The Client

Established in 2003, Tower One (now defunct) offered a range of services aimed to help drive your business forward in a digitally connected world. When they came to Painting Pixels they were looking for an animation that made use of both 2D and 3D Design and Development scenes alongside an Augmented Reality Application to promote the range of digital assets businesses can use to promote themselves.

The Deliverables

2D Animation – Create a 2D Animation that makes use of professionally designed and stylised graphical assets to simulate the functionality of a mobile game application.

3D Animation – To model, rig and animate a 3D Character in a studio environment to showcase how 3D Animation can be used in a business.

Augmented Reality Application – To create an Augmented Reality Application that can render the previously modelled 3D Character on a mobile device and super-impose it into the physical world showcasing how AR can be used to promote a business.

The Process

As with all of our Design and Development 2D Animations we first needed to develop a style from which our assets would be created. In doing this we opted for a flat, simplistic design that looked fun, clear and suitable as assets for a mobile game. These assets were then animated in a manner that enabled the viewer to visualise how the mobile game would work and the extent of its functionality. This 2D Animation was to later be incorporated into the 3D Animation to create one animation that made use of both 2D and 3D Design and Development.

The 3D Animation side of this project first required character concepts. These were produced by our designers for the client to choose from. Once a character had been selected it was then modelled in full 3D, rigged and animated to match our professionally recorded voice over. The studio environment the character was to be seen in was also drawn out as a concept by our designers before being modelled in full 3D Design and Development. Camera animation was then added for long sweeping shots that show off the character and studio in full, telling the story through both audio and visual queues.

The final aspect of the project was the creation of an Augmented Reality Application. Our designers were able to produce a concept design for the user interface of the application and once approved our developers began work on the app development; pulling in bespoke graphical assets, our 3D character and voice-over lines.

The final app made use of the camera found on nearly all mobile devices and was able to cleverly detect a particular image that when the camera was pointing at it the character would come into a display with buttons that triggered animation and sound to play. The character looked as though it was in the physical world and the user is able to rotate around it fully in three dimensions.

The Result

Tower One were really happy with the finished Design and Development project and how well it turned out; using it as a showcase to other businesses as to what digital design and media can do for a business in terms of promotion.

    Bespoke 3D Logo Design

    I needed a logo created for my new company. I didn’t want just any old bog standard 2D logo from your everyday graphic designers. I needed a premium 3D logo, which had great detail and depth.     3D Explainer Animation for Trade Show

    Fantastic service and communication! We wanted to exhibit our SEO services at a large internet convention. However due to our line of work, we didn’t have many images or graphics, which would help attract attention from the passerby. We wanted a way to demonstrate our services which mainly deals with statistics, web rankings and PPC and wanted a way to show off these services in a more visual manner. I needed to have a web presence immediately as I would have an article which was to be published and released the following day.     Would Recommend Every time! I wanted a fantastic looking set logos which would both be corporate and not too corporate at the same time. Also I needed the logos to help bring all the different business services together but still make them look like they are full professional separate services but under the same company for better service and convenience.     Interactive Real-time Car App

    Fantastic Technology and Vision! We are a company which uses that latest in modern technology and design to create our extraordinary super cars. We needed a way to demonstrate particular features and to demonstrate also how specific features like the unique door system would open. Originally we were going to go for a standard 3D animation as we did not know about the 4d technology. We searched around for many different 3d design companies and Painting Pixels quality of work caught our eye. After a detailed meeting we were delighted to learn that they can offer exactly what we actually wanted which was indeed 4D animation. They created an Application for us which allowed us to rotate our new super car with the mouse which meant that we could precisely see how the car looks from every angle. Also the 4D allows us to zoom in and see how the more intricate design features worked. We are delight to have met with Painting Pixels as they had the vision to see beyond what we asked for and offered us a better solution to our problem and so gave us exactly what we wanted. This was a fantastic use of technology and Painting Pixels did a fantastic job.

    Great Design work! We needed to have our e-commerce website redesigned. We didn’t want to use a common web development company as they tend to have a specific design style. So after a quick search we found Painting Pixels. Their work and range of skills looked very impressive. We wanted to have our logo recreated in hi-resolution, having looked at painting pixels website they looked like they had the right skills to deliver the logo with great quality and speed.     Illustration of Concept Data in a Beautiful Way

    Brilliant! I needed to demonstrate a concept that I had to add to my book. I created a rough black and white hand drawn sketch but needed it to be created in to a professional illustration.     Logo Design – Your First Motor

    First Class Job! We needed a cool new logo but didn’t really know what we wanted. We looked around at many different design companies and their portfolio and range of work was very uninspired. We came across Painting Pixels and loved their work and range of design disciplines.     Way better than we had imagined! We needed a 3D animation which would clearly demonstrate a unique dredging process and wanted to showcase this at an exhibition. We called Painting Pixels to help make our animation. We did not at first realise that their offices were based three hours drive away, however we had no problems with dealing with a company that was not local to us.
