Infographics- The Perfect Solution To De-icing!

Background

Eusalt is the association of crystallised salt producers, they are located in 18 different countries around the world. Europe is the 2nd largest salt producing region in the world, Eusalt accounting for 77% of that. Its mission is to promote the variety of uses of salt, highlight the socio-economic benefits of salt production and contribute to major debates by providing facts and guidance.

Their vision is to be the authoritative voice of the salt industry in Europe, they want to do this so they can educate and communicate the values and benefits of salt. They have 4 key priorities, these being food, circular economy, environment and safety.

Salt has many benefits that add to de-icing, which is why Eusalt wanted to create this animation, it is cost-effective, easy to store and benefits the climate change crisis as it is easily located around Europe, meaning it doesn’t need to be transported in like many other materials. After watching the animation, you will understand the importance of this message that Eusalt is trying to spread.

The Task

Eusalt came to Painting Pixels with a big project in mind, they hoped for a master 2D animation, which you can browse here. They also hoped for 5 short 2D animations, which you can again browse here; lastly, they wanted 5 infographics to go alongside the short animations.

Infographics are a good way of communicating information in a quick, interesting manner, which are easy to understand, due to the use of graphs and minimal text.

Process

The process of an infographic is quite simple, it starts with the style and content. This is communicated with the client as they must like both of these and then one of our artists can get started. Infographics can be completely independent or integrated into a bigger project, in this case, they were part of a number of different graphics. Due to this, some of the same artwork was used across the 2D animations and infographics as they are integrated together.

Each of the shorter animations had an infographic made to go alongside it to explain the same information in a much more visual manner. Here is each infographic with the partnered 2D animation:

Result

Infographics are much simpler projects compared to others, but they are just as eye-catching and informative. Overall, we loved working with Eusalt on this bigger project and know they did just as much!
