Dredging Animation
The following animation and still images were produced for a large dredging company, which needed to demonstrate a particular dredging technique which they would be showcasing at an exhibition. It was important to show how the entire process would work without the use of any kind of voiceover or overlaying text as passersby have to understand the process without having to read text and also many potential clients may not clearly understand English if it is not their first language.
The animation sequence demonstrates how a heavily customised dredging vessel cleans the built up sand and mud off from under the pier allowing boats and other small vessels to dock safely without the worry of damaging the hull.
The animation and all the assets were created from scratch using 3D modelling. It was necessary to build every item from scratch because items such as the dredging vessel was customizes so it was important to capture all the detail. We are happy with the accuracy and level of detail that we put into the development of the vessel as we did not have any blue prints and so worked off a hand full of photographs.
